Lifeguard 

 

The responsibilities of knowing how to rescue a person as well as performing CPR or First Aid makes this a very important job. The lifeguard course teaches rescue techniques. You must already be a strong swimmer. Participants successfully completeing this course will be nationally reconized American Red Cross Lifeguards; Lifeguard Training and First Aid certifications are valid for 3 years. CPR/AED for Lifeguards certification is valid for 1 year. If you're 15 or older and looking for a great summer job or challenging career that's in demand, the American Red Cross Lifeguarding program is the best place to start. Life guarding lets you work as part of a team to help people safely enjoy the water. You could even save a life!

 

Learning is fun and easy! Through videos, group discussion and hands-on practice, you'll learn:

Rescue Skills for use in the water and on land

First aid and professional rescuer CPR/AED training to help you prepare for an emergency

Professional lifeguard responsibilities

Surveillance skills to help you reconize and prevent injuries

Get a jump start on securing a future job as a lifeguard by completing the Red Cross Guardstart: Lifeguarding Tomorrow course! Learn what it takes to be a great lifeguard. The experience you gain through GuardStart will help you get ready to take Lifeguarding.
