For some youth, a Red Cross elementary or middle school club is their first venture into the world of volunteerism and service. Being part of a club can give them vital social skills such as teamwork and leadership. It teaches them the importance of companionship and care for others.
This is the opportunity to introduce them to a club where they can have fun and at the same time learn and serve. Students can learn about the life saving mission of the Red Cross, how to be prepared for disasters, how to be water safe and how to perform basic first aid skills. Youth can also help by distributing safety information, leading fundraisers in their schools and volunteering at numerous local Red Cross events.
As young volunteers the American Red Cross provides elementary or middle school students avenues to have fun, develop in a safe environment and make a difference!
