Not a Red Cross Instructor:
Become a Red Cross Instructor and be part of an elite team that delivers life saving health and safety training under the most recognized and trusted symbol in the world. A detailed process expands your teaching skills and technical expertise and you'll be fully supported by today’s best instructor materials. Your Local Red Cross can provide you additional information on prerequisites and skill requirements for instructor training courses.

Introduction to Instructor Training:
The Fundamentals of Instructor Training (FIT) course is intended to introduce instructor candidates to the history, structure and activities of the American Red Cross, prepare the candidates to teach American Red Cross specialty courses to diverse populations and to introduce the candidates to the policies and procedures of the American Red Cross. The FIT course will ensure course consistency, quality and appropriate reporting. FIT is a pre-requisite course. Participants desiring to attain instructor course authorization must complete the FIT course first. Contact the Chapter for more information on completing FIT and options for educators, etc.

Family Caregiving:
Help participants gain an understanding of what is involved in caring for a loved one and know how to provide that care through 1-hour modules covering topics such as personal care, nutrition, home safety and others. This information is of vital importance to those caring for their loved ones who suffer from chronic illness or disabilities.

 

 

Basic Aid for Children (BAT)
Basic Aid Training is a 6 hour course. BAT introduces 8 - 10 year-olds (grades 3 - 5) to the emergency action steps, Check-Call-Care, as well as to basic first aid procedures. An activity book with puzzles and games teaches children how to prevent injuries and what to do in an emergency.

 

 

First Aid for Children Today (FACT)
First Aid for Children Today is a 10 - 14 hour course. The FACT Critter Clan leads kids, aged 5 - 8 (grades K - 3), through health promotion and injury prevention activities. Its environmental theme teaches safety in a non-threatening way.
Topics include: · Hygiene and Health Habits   · First Aid   · Personal Safety  ·Injury Prevention


Scrubby Bear
Scrubby Bear-Personal Hygiene. The Scrubby Bear presentation teaches children ages 4 to 7 years old how germs are spread, how to prevent the spread of disease and to properly wash their hands. The presentation is taught in approximately 20 minutes.
